Today I’m excited to announce a partnership with YWCA West Central Michigan You can now download all of the first six songs from#StoopSessions on Bandcamp, with all proceeds benefiting the YWCA. The album features songs from Runaway Brother, Secret Grief, Small Parks, and more, and is the only place you can get these versions of these songs.
The YWCA provides support to victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and stalking, such as an emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, supportive housing, and 24-hour confidential hotlines. Serving nearly 5,000 people each year, the YWCA is committed to eliminating racism; empowering women and girls; and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
For more information, visit www.ywcawcmi.org
More than three in ten women will be hurt in a violent relationship, and one in four will be a victim of sexual assault. Your support of Stoop Sessions helps the YWCA help hurting women, children, and families find hope and healing.
Every dollar raised from this project goes straight to the YWCA and helps them to continue the important work they are doing. Even if you can’t give support with money today, please help to spread the word! I’d also encourage you to connect with YWCA online and keep track of what they’re doing.
As a lot of you know, Matt is a very important member of our extended family. He put together the awesome Stoop Session videos and now has taken it a step further by releasing the audio tracks on Bandcamp with all the proceeds going to YWCA. You can download an acoustic version of That Party on Francis as well as awesome tracks from a lot of our friends AND help a great cause. Check it out.

August 20th at Mac’s Bar in Lansing, MI. We’re headlining and chose all the openers. It’s going to be a sweet show!
Looking for a trumpet player with a Harmon mute within a half hour of Holland, MI to possibly come play on our record (preferably today/tonight). If you or anyone you know could help us out, please send us a message!

We had a short discussion about this between Shawn, Kam, and myself. Everyone sat on different sides of the debate and to be fair Corey hasn’t ever watched a Star Wars movie. I ultimately like Lord of the Rings better because of the development of the Elvish languages. I have a desire to one day build a literary world around languages that I make up. It would totally just be jocking Tolkien but I’d like to basically create a science fiction Middle Earth with an expansive history, set of languages, and people.
Anonymous said: Do you plan on releasing the live DVD before the new record or will it be the other way around?
The goal is to get the live DVD out first. Hopefully late summer/early fall.
Anonymous said: are you guys all straight?
I mean, if we’re adhering to the strict binary that society has developed for describing sexual orientation and considering that all of us have girlfriends, it’s safe to say that we all lie on the straight side of the pendulum.
